Chui Chai is back to the stage in Thailand

On this coming Aug 6-8 and Aug 14-15, Chui Chai will be back to Thailand after their world premiere show at the U.S. last month as they will perform at Patravadi Theatre for Thai people. Pichet Klunchun Dance Company is the one who brings back them back. Chui Chai is a part of the famous Nang Loi (Floating Lady) episode from the Ramayana epic. It mainly tells about demon maiden Benyakai, who is under control of her great demon uncle Thodsakarn, King of Lanka, to transform herself into Sita, wife of his enemy King Rama. Thodsakarn has taken her to Lanka, causing King Rama to start a battle to get her back. Thodsakarn wants Benyakai as Sita to play dead in order to fool Rama into ending the war. this is a near-impossible job ,but Benyakai has to do it. The performance will see women in an amzing costumes moving through pools of light, unlike Pichet, who reflects their movements between traditional and contemporary styles. other than the transformation of Benyakai, the audiences will also see the changing of Thai society from the Ayutthaya era to the present Rattanakosin era, the dance is a well combine of modern dance and traditional dance. After Bangkok, Chui Chai will move to be on show at Vic Hua Hin every Sat evening during Sept 11-25. this performance is what everyone are looking forward for.

I think this show is very good because they shows their performance around the world. It show Thai culture and costumes to foreigners. It can also promote the image of Thailand. Thai people should maintain the Thai culture for the next generation. It you go to see the show, you can also conserve it, too.
